Requirements
To enroll in the Open Water Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must be 10 years old or older. Students age 10 and 11 may be enrolled in a private class. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with scuba diving is required. |

What You'll Do: Apply your diving knowledge and skills while making four open water dives. When & Where: Saturday and Sunday The Scuba Ranch in Terrell, Texas or Balmorhea State Park Exact class times may vary due to class size, water conditions, and weather. Step 3 Includes:

We have three course options: Basic, Deluxe, and Premium: Basic: $700 for the complete certification. This price includes the PADI eLearning, Pool Sessions, and Lake Sessions.* Deluxe: $780 covers the basic course and includes Peak Performance Buoyancy (fine tunes your weighting and teaches you proper weight placement, as well as how your lungs and gear configuration contribute to your buoyancy).* Premium: $850 covers everything in the basic and deluxe packages plus includes Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox which gives you longer allowable bottom times and can reduce your overall nitrogen build-up when diving multiple dives in a day or multiple days in a row). * **Students must have their own Scuba rated snorkeling gear. All student divers are required to complete the Diver Medical Form. Read the form carefully and answer questions honestly. If you can answer "Yes" to question 3, 5, or 10, OR any question on page 2, then you are required to obtain a physician's release on this form, without restrictions, before participating in Step 2 - Pool Training. Your Essential Personal Gear For the best fit and maximum comfort, you will dive with your own essential personal gear including mask, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves and mesh bag during the course. You'll want to stop by during regular business hours to get professionally outfitted with your new essential personal gear prior to your equipment orientation session. The Scuba Equipment You'll Use You will use our fleet of modern diving equipment during your pool training and open water dives. This includes regulator, alternate air source, buoyancy control device, dive computer, weights and air tank. Don't worry if you don't know about all of these right now. You'll learn all about them during your course. Referral OptionIt's best to complete your training locally with us to maximize your vacation dives, but if you're close to your vacation departure or you need to complete your certification during the winter months, then a referral may be for Desert Reef Outfitters, then complete Step 3 - Open Water Dives at your vacation destination. The Next Step Now that you've learned how to dive and earned you're Open Water Diver certification, you'll want to explore what you can do and where you can go as a diver. Your next stop is the Adventure Diver course which will bring new aspects to your diving, such as diving at night or around shipwrecks.
